The news media’s pick-and-choose-what-sells approach to reporting doesn’t help matters. It makes it a very frustrating world for those of us of the scientist/engineer persuasion who would like to have some good research backing up our parenting decisions. It’s so easy to fixate on a study that resonates with you, but there’s always the nagging worry that someone else has already “proved” it wrong. I guess there still is no substitue for asking advice from a community of wise and loving friends and family.
